Worth your hours in Kuwait City

The Kuwait Towers on the Gulf Road are the city's landmark and the most efficient single stop on a layover, with the observation deck giving you the whole bay.
Souq Al-Mubarakiya is the older commercial heart of the city and the better choice if you want somewhere to walk rather than a view.
The Grand Mosque and the surrounding waterfront work as a longer option, though summer heat in Kuwait is extreme and outdoor plans need to account for it.

Staying airside instead

Terminal 4 is new, spacious and comfortable, with extensive retail, dining and lounge space across its two concourses — a substantial upgrade on what Kuwait had before.
The Airport Mall adjacent to Terminal 1 has a large food court and shops, but note it is landside and reaching it means entering Kuwait.
Because everything now runs from one terminal, connections need no shuttle and walking distances are short.

Sleeping, showers and lounges at KWI
